“Made in Paradise”
During his residency in Cairo, Swiss artist Yan Duyvendak tried to compare western ideas about Islam to aspects of reality. Further collaboration with the Swiss Nicole Borgeat and the Egyptian Omar Ghayatt led to the creation of the performance “Made in Paradise”, which sets out on the track religious stereotypes and mutual prejudices of both the west and the east. The performance video is a guest at the Zürcher Theater Spektakel (26-27 August 2009) and at the Festival La Bâtie in Geneva (29.8.-3.9.2009).
